Yes. Rippl remains a valid, free alternative to using NZ COVID Tracer. As an official Ministry of Health integration partner, PaperKite is being encouraged to continue providing Rippl for those who prefer an alternative to the government app – and for those who have older phones (Rippl runs on Android 5.0 and iOS 11.4 or later). Rippl users are still able to receive the same important alerts from the Ministry of Health as NZ COVID Tracer users.
The Privacy Trust award identifies products and services that the Privacy Commissioner considers to be outstanding in the way they manage personal information. The award is intended to give consumers confidence that products like Rippl have used a “privacy by design” approach, and can be trusted. The award follows a thorough review by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of the Rippl solution and the PaperKite’s privacy practices that support it.

In June 2020, Rippl was awarded the Privacy Trust Mark, joining Air New Zealand, RealMe and Trademe on the honour roll. This award identifies products and services that the Privacy Commissioner considers to be outstanding in the way they manage personal information. FastCompany Innovation by Design 2021 Honourable Mention
Rippl was named as an honorable mention in the Pandemic Response category in Fast Company’s 2021 Innovation by Design Awards. The program highlights designers and businesses who are solving the problems of today and tomorrow.
